About Our Client

Our client is an advanced manufacturer seeking a Vice President of Operations to join its executive leadership team. This individual will lead manufacturing, supply chain, materials management, and operational strategy while driving productivity, continuous improvement, and long-term business growth.

About the Job

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Operations will oversee all manufacturing operations while developing and executing strategies to improve efficiency, quality, on-time delivery, and overall operational performance. This leader will partner closely with Engineering, Sales, and other cross‑functional teams, develop high‑performing leaders, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting strategic direction and rolling up their sleeves to solve complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, planning, and materials management.
  • Develop and execute operational, productivity, and CAPEX initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive key performance metrics including on‑time delivery, first‑pass yield, inventory, and productivity.
  • Partner with Engineering, Sales, and customers to deliver high‑quality, manufacturable solutions.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing leadership team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and operational performance.
  • Establish operational goals, manage budgets, and monitor business performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing operations within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong background in manufacturing operations, supply chain, materials management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting machining and precision manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to build high‑performing teams, drive operational improvements, and lead organizational change.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and executive presentation skills.

Compensation

$190,000 - $230,000 base salary + bonus + Long‑term incentive

Job Status

Direct Hire. Onsite in the Buffalo, NY area.
