Summary
American University seeks a forward-thinking, data-informed, andhighly collaborative leader to serve as the Vice President forUndergraduate Enrollment Management. During a pivotal moment forAU, this role presents an exceptional opportunity to shape thefuture of enrollment strategy at one of the nation's mostdistinctive universities.
As the University's chief architect of undergraduate enrollmentstrategy, the Vice President will bring a comprehensive view of thestudent lifecycle, leading efforts that span early awareness andrecruitment through enrollment, persistence, and graduation. Thesuccessful candidate will develop and execute an integratedenrollment strategy that strengthens the recruitment funnel,enhances AU's value proposition,optimizes financial aid, advancesenrollment growth opportunities, and improve student success andretention outcomes. This leader will be both a strategist and anoperator, capable of translating data and market insights intoaction while building alignment across campus. The Vice Presidentreports directly to the President and serves on the University'sCabinet.
A key member of the University's senior leadership team, the VicePresident will partner closely with academic and administrativeleaders to advance ambitious enrollment goals and a coordinated,university-wide approach to the entire student lifecycle. Thisleader will work collaboratively with the deans and seniorleadership across the university to align enrollment prioritieswith institutional objectives, identify opportunities for growthand differentiation, and strengthen the University's marketposition in an increasingly competitive environment. The successfulcandidate will excel at collaboration, communication, and changeleadership, viewing enrollment as a shared institutionalresponsibility and fostering strong partnerships across theUniversity. Supported by an engaged Board of Trustees and aleadership team committed to execution and innovation, the nextVice President will have a unique opportunity to influenceinstitutional direction, strengthen enrollment performance, andhelp lead AU into its next chapter of growth and impact.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $375,000 - $450,000. ThePresident and Board of Trustees reserve the final determination ofthe selected candidate’s actual pay, considering their experienceand qualifications for the role.
