Vice President of Tax

LHH is partnering with a fast-growing, PE-backed company for a VP of Tax — a strategic, build-and-lead mandate, not a traditional compliance role.

Responsibilities:

This tax leader will report to the CFO and serve as a key strategic partner, with a mandate to:

• Optimize cash taxes and protect enterprise value
• Build a scalable tax function from the ground up
• Support capital-intensive development and multi-state expansion
• Lead tax strategy across M&A, JVs, restructurings, and financing transactions
• Own tax incentives and economic development strategy
• Advise on real estate, construction, fixed assets, depreciation, and cost segregation

Requirements:

• CPA required; Public accounting foundation strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive tax leadership, ideally in a capital-intensive industry like real estate, construction, energy/utilities, infra, etc.
• Experience partnering with PE sponsors, boards, and cross-functional leadership
• Polished executive presence and strong communication skills
