Vice President of Surgical ServicesProvide leadership in the development and implementation of hospital-wide activities and programs that promote a safe, patient-centered environment while contributing to continuous improvement and risk management initiatives.The VP of Surgical Services acts as the facility lead for strategic growth in surgical services; working in collaboration with the Central West Texas Division recruiters and facility leadership. Accountable for the effective, efficient, and compliant operation of surgical services at NAMC and SDSH. Responsible for planning, directing, monitoring, coordinating, evaluating and continually improving the operation of surgical services, to include OR, pre/post, endoscopy, sterile processing, business office, scheduling, and analysts.

Establish and maintain medical staff relationships; identify new business opportunities and focus on implementation of the strategic plan related to growth.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement surgical services growth strategiesManage all operational projects related to scopeManage all day-to-day operations of the service including managing direct reports, expense analysis and identifying ways to increase profitability and decrease costsDevelop and implement process improvement efforts to improve the overall function and efficiency of the serviceManages variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and costEnsures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of careEffectively communicate with team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashionEstimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goalsDelegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnelIdentify and resolve issues and conflicts in a timely mannerPlan and schedule project timeliness and milestones appropriatelyDevelop and communicate progressFacilitate presentations as requiredPerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree requiredRN or CST experience requiredMaster's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred3+ years of experience in surgical services required3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceCurrently licensed as a registered professional nurse or certified surgical technologist in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation requiredCertified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferredCertified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferredThis position oversees 2 facilities.Great benefits.
