The position includes managing budgets, vendor contracts, and capital expenditures, as well as supervising staff, enforcing OSHA standards, and supporting career development. The VP also leads long-term site planning, including construction, closure, and post-closure care, while collaborating with engineering teams to implement design and environmental improvements.
Additional responsibilities include reporting to regulatory bodies, engaging with government and community stakeholders, addressing public concerns, and integrating technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The role requires extensive experience in landfill or waste management operations, strong leadership and communication skills, regulatory expertise, and technical knowledge of environmental monitoring and landfill systems.
Compensation is competitive, with a salary range of $180,000–$225,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
