As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Shape and lead the Association’s people and HR strategy in alignment with our mission and long-term goals.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing HR team and strengthen the leadership pipeline.
  • Help shape organizational culture, employee engagement, performance, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead innovative approaches to talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employer branding.
  • Bring a forward-thinking approach to HR analytics, technology, and workforce intelligence to drive better organizational decisions.
  • Serve as a senior leader and subject-matter expert in employee relations and employment law, partnering closely with legal counsel.
  • Partner across the organization to strengthen the employee experience and position the Tampa Y as an employer of choice.
  • Help guide the organization through growth, change, and continued innovation while keeping people and mission at the center.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Proven success building and developing high-performing HR teams.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, workplace investigations, and employment law.
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership to influence organizational strategy.
  • Strong business acumen, executive presence, communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
  • Experience leveraging HRIS, workforce analytics, data, and technology to drive organizational outcomes.
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically, translate trends into innovative practices, and proactively support organizational growth.
  • A strong commitment to retention, leadership development, and building a strong organizational culture.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of an organization.
  • Passion for the YMCA mission and making a meaningful impact in the community.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Must be able to work in person in the Tampa area and travel throughout the Association as needed.
