Vice President of High-Risk Payments

Owning the high-risk payments business end to end, the full-time remote Vice President of High-Risk Payments will manage the P&L, risk posture, bank and processor relationships, and payment operations while driving revenue and product strategies. Key responsibilities Oversee the payments P&L, including revenue strategy, pricing governance, and margin management Establish and enforce risk appetite and underwriting policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards Develop and maintain relationships with banks, processors, and partners to support merchant onboarding and operations Required qualifications 8+ years in payments, fintech, or merchant acquiring, with at least 5 years in high-risk environments Proven experience managing a payments P&L or business unit, not just a functional team Existing relationships with acquiring banks, processors, and gateways Deep knowledge of Visa and Mastercard monitoring programs and corrective actions Experience underwriting high-risk ecommerce verticals such as nutraceuticals and subscription offers
