With a strong commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, UG2 supports facilities nationwide through a people-first, service-driven approach.Position SummaryUG2 is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Finance & Shared Services to support and partner with operations across the Central, Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions. This role will serve as a key financial leader, driving performance, supporting growth, and ensuring financial discipline across a geographically dispersed, labor-intensive services business.The ideal candidate brings deep financial expertise along with experience in facility management services, janitorial, security, staffing, or other labor-driven service industries.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with regional and operational leaders to drive financial performance, profitability, and growth initiativesProvide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-makingLead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) across multiple regionsEnsure alignment between financial planning, accounting results, and overall company performanceCorporate Accounting & Controller OversightLead and develop the Corporate Controller and accounting organization (direct report)Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timelinessEnsure preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and related reportingOversee technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, accruals, and policy developmentMaintain and enhance internal controls environment (including audit readiness)Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and manage audit process end-to-endDrive improvements in close efficiency, standardization, and automationOperational Finance & Business PartnershipAct as a trusted advisor to regional leadership teams across Central, Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast marketsDevelop and monitor KPIs related to labor efficiency, margin performance, and contract profitabilityFinancial Planning & AnalysisOversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesAnalyze variances and identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesDrive continuous improvement in financial reporting and analyticsLabor & Cost ManagementManage and optimize labor cost structures, including wage, overtime, and staffing modelsEnsure alignment between operational performance and financial outcomesPartner with HR and operations on workforce planning and productivity initiativesProcess Excellence & AutomationDrive continuous improvement across finance operations, with a focus on high?volume, repeatable processesIdentify opportunities for automation in time capture, payroll, billing, AP, and financial close activitiesReduce manual work, cycle times, and error rates while improving service reliability to both our internal and external customersCompliance, Controls & Risk ManagementEnsure strong internal controls across all financial processes, including payroll, billing, accounts payable and financial reportingMaintain compliance with multi?state regulations, labor laws, union agreements, and client audit requirementsSupport internal and external audits related to finance operationsTeam LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional finance teamFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)10+ years of progressive finance leadership experiencePrior experience in facility management, janitorial, security, staffing, or other labor-intensive service industries strongly preferredProven ability to partner with operations in a multi-site, geographically distributed environmentStrong expertise in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelingDeep understanding of labor cost drivers and contract-based business modelsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience leading and developing high-performing teamsKey CompetenciesStrategic thinker with strong business acumenHands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership styleData-driven decision makerAbility to influence and collaborate across functions and regionsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsWhy Join UG2?Opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing national organizationHigh visibility with executive leadershipAbility to directly impact operational and financial performanceCollaborative, mission-driven culture focused on excellence and innovationAbout UG2Founded in 2012, UG2 is privately held and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
