Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.Job SummaryPosition title: Vice President of Facility OperationsReporting to: Chief Operational OfficerJob Summary: Essen Health Care is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Facility Operations to provide executive leadership over all facility-related operations across its outpatient and clinical footprint. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and patient-ready facilities that support high-quality care delivery, organizational growth, and operational excellence.The VP will oversee facility maintenance, life-safety systems, space planning, capital projects, vendor management, and regulatory readiness across all sites.

This leader will partner closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to ensure facilities are optimized for performance, safety, and scalability.ResponsibilitiesFacility Operations & InfrastructureProvide executive oversight of all facility operations across multiple outpatient and clinical sitesEnsure facilities are safe, functional, clean, and fully operational at all timesOversee preventive maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and medical gas systemsStandardize facility operating procedures and response protocols across all locationsRegulatory Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including:The Joint Commission (TJC)OSHADepartment of Health (DOH)Local, state, and federal facility and life-safety requirementsMaintain continuous survey and inspection readinessLead facility-related audits, inspections, and corrective action plansPartner with Compliance and Safety teams on risk mitigation and incident responseCapital Projects & Space PlanningLead facility capital planning, renovations, expansions, and site build-outsPartner with Real Estate, Construction, and external vendors on new site development and leasehold improvementsOversee space planning to ensure efficient clinical and operational workflowsManage project timelines, budgets, and vendor performanceVendor & Contract ManagementOversee all facility-related vendors, including maintenance, security, cleaning, waste management, and construction partnersNegotiate and manage service contracts to ensure quality, cost control, and service-level adherenceEvaluate vendor performance and implement continuous improvement initiativesFinancial & Budget ManagementOwn facility operations budgets, including operating expenses and capital expendituresPartner with Finance on forecasting, cost controls, and ROI analysis for facility investmentsIdentify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or qualityEnsure appropriate resource allocation aligned with organizational growthEmergency Preparedness & Business ContinuityDevelop and maintain emergency preparedness, disaster response, and business continuity plansLead facility response during emergencies, outages, or adverse eventsCoordinate with clinical, IT, and operations teams to minimize service disruptionsLeadership & Team DevelopmentBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing facility operations leadership teamEstablish clear accountability, performance metrics, and development plansFoster a culture of safety, responsiveness, and operational excellencePartner with HR and Talent Acquisition on workforce planning and succession strategyQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA, MHA, Engineering, or related field) preferred10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare facility operations or large-scale facilities managementProven experience leading multi-site healthcare or clinical facilitiesStrong knowledge of healthcare regulatory, safety, and life-safety standardsDemonstrated experience managing capital projects and large operating budgetsExcellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in large outpatient or ambulatory healthcare networksFamiliarity with The Joint Commission and Department of Health surveysExperience supporting rapid growth or multi-site expansionBilingual (Spanish preferred)Equal Opportunity Employer
