Opportunity

We are seeking a growth-oriented Vice President of Construction to establish and expand operations in Charleston, South Carolina. The company currently generates approximately $300 million in annual revenue and is targeting $1 billion within 3–5 years through acquisitions and organic growth.

This role is ideal for a construction leader with greenfield experience who can launch operations from the ground up, build a local team, and establish the processes needed to support continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and develop construction operations in the Charleston market.
• Build and lead a local team, including recruiting and developing key operational personnel.
• Develop staffing plans, budgets, resource strategies, and operational objectives.
• Oversee construction operations, project management, estimating, scheduling, and field execution.
• Manage financial performance, profitability, cost controls, and operational KPIs.
• Establish scalable processes and infrastructure to support growth.
• Develop relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other key partners.
• Support market expansion, acquisitions, and integration initiatives.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in commercial construction, general contracting, specialty contracting, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated success launching operations, opening new locations, entering new markets, or leading greenfield initiatives.
• Experience building teams, establishing operational infrastructure, and developing new business markets.
• Strong financial and operational management skills; P&L responsibility of $300 million or more, or comparable scope, is preferred.
• Experience managing project budgets, labor planning, profitability, and operational performance.
• Ability to lead teams, establish accountability, and drive results.
• Acquisition integration and business expansion experience are advantageous.
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and relationship-driven leadership style.

Compensation

Base Salary: $200,000–$250,000, plus bonus. Compensation may reach $275,000 in base salary for candidates with exceptional greenfield experience. Relocation assistance is available.
