In this role, you will help drive that engineering transformation across both the software and the teams that build it.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and own cash and fixed-income data processing components (Java/Kotlin) within the Prime Brokerage Technology platformChampion developer-led automated testing as a core engineering practiceWork within an Agile team with a strong focus on Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Actively participate in design, planning, and estimation discussionsPartner with multiple management teams to ensure functions are well integrated to meet shared goals, and identify system enhancements needed to support new products and process improvementsResolve high-impact problems through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system architecture, and industry standardsProvide subject-matter expertise and advanced applications programming knowledge, ensuring designs align with the overall architecture blueprintApply advanced knowledge of system flow to define standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementationBuild a comprehensive understanding of how architecture, infrastructure, and other business functions integrate to achieve broader business goalsDeliver in-depth, interpretive analysis to define issues clearly and develop innovative solutionsProvide technical leadership, acting as an advisor and coach to mid-level developers and analystsKnowledge & Experience6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis roleProven background delivering software using an iterative Agile approachTrack record of quality-led engineering, including developer-led automated testing, CI/CD, microservices, containerized deployment, and cloud engineeringDemonstrated ability to own and drive successful delivery to business stakeholdersComfortable engaging directly with product owners to understand requirements and explore solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPrior experience or knowledge of Prime Brokerage is desirable but not essentialExperience operating in a collaborative leadership capacity, acting as "first among peers"Required SkillsOpen, collaborative communication styleGenuine pride in delivering solutions that make users happyPractical experience with Agile and DevOps practices - including continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, and containerizationHands-on JVM development experience using Kotlin, Java, or ScalaSolid understanding of Event-based architectures and HTTP/REST-based architecturesWorking knowledge of relational databases and SQLFamiliarity with tools such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a strong plusQualificationsDegree in a technical or quantitative discipline preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field)CompetenciesTakes personal ownership of the timeliness and quality of deliveryCommunicates and collaborates effectively with business users and other technology teamsChampions a culture of continuous improvement, always seeking to refine processes and practices - both individually and across the teamComfortable giving and receiving open, honest feedbackThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
