OVERVIEW

At Orion, we are seeking a Vice President of IT Operations based in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. The VP of IT Operations serves as the operational leader for enterprise information technology operations. This executive oversees enterprise IT governance specific to Orion Groups national operations across, portfolio management, accounting (AP&AR), Service Management and the IT Project Management Office, while partnering closely with Orion’s executive leadership, internal department leaders, and technology teams to deliver initiatives. The opportunity focuses on driving operational excellence, maintaining governance standards, overseeing Orion’s internal enterprise systems, managing technology investments, strengthening vendor partnerships, and fostering a culture of accountability and execution throughout the IT organization.

SALARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead day-to-day operations of enterprise IT governance.
• Oversee an enterprise portfolio of 40+ concurrent technology initiatives.
• Direct project prioritization, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and executive reporting.
• Establish and enforce enterprise project management standards and governance processes.
• Drive accountability for project delivery across internal business and technology initiatives.
• Provide executive oversight of Orion’s internal enterprise business and technology systems, including SaaS based, Emerging AI Technologies and on-premise systems.
• Partner with internal technology and operations teams to ensure successful planning, implementation, go-live, and stabilization of enterprise systems.
• Monitor program governance, budgets, vendor performance, and executive reporting throughout implementation lifecycles.
• Develop annual operating and capital budget recommendations for Corporate IT.
• Manage approved operating and capital expenditures.
• Oversee capital request processes, purchasing workflows, and financial performance reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide executive financial updates.
• Manage relationships with strategic technology vendors and managed service providers.
• Monitor service level agreements, contract performance, renewals, and vendor accountability.
• Govern vendor initiatives alongside Finance, Legal, and Compliance.

KEY EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of progressive Information Technology experience.
• 5+ years within a healthcare provider organization.
• 5+ as a senior executive deputy, chief of staff, or second-in-command.
• Demonstrated leadership of full lifecycle enterprise implementations.
• Experience overseeing enterprise technology portfolios and governance programs.
• Proven success managing IT operating and capital budgets.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree required (preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field)
