Phoenix, Arizona based Kryterion is a global leader in computer-based testing, certification, and assessment, operating the Web Assessor platform on behalf of enterprise clients in regulated certification and credentialing markets. As part of Toronto, Ontario based Drake International's portfolio of workforce and assessment service lines, Kryterion is entering a new chapter in its technology operating model.
We are hiring a Vice President of Information Technology to lead the function across both internal IT and client-facing CloudOps, with end-to-end accountability for the security, reliability, scalability, and cost discipline of the technology platform that serves Kryterion's clients globally. This is a VP-level role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational ownership. The successful candidate will modernize the technology operating model, formalize the segmentation between internal IT and client-facing CloudOps, drive cost discipline across vendor and license posture, and partner with the Kryterion CTO and Directors of Engineering on the technology that underlies Kryterion's Web Assessor platform
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
CloudOps (client-facing infrastructure)
- AWS production architecture and operations powering the Web Assessor platform
- Site reliability engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment pipelines
- FinOps: capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance engineering across the production estate
- SOC2-aligned operational discipline: incident response, change management, vulnerability management, and observability
- Security and compliance posture aligned to enterprise client requirements
Internal IT
- End-user computing and global helpdesk across the US, UK, Philippines, India, and South Africa
- Identity and access management, SSO, MFA, and lifecycle administration
- Microsoft 365, productivity platforms, and corporate communication infrastructure
- Vendor and license portfolio: rationalization, renewal discipline, and commercial negotiation
AI and automation in operations
- Deploy AI agents and automation into IT operations and CloudOps—ticket triage, automated diagnostics, runbook automation, and infrastructure-as-code generation
- Partner with Drake's VP of Enterprise Applications, Data, and AI on enterprise AI platform consumption and governance
- Establish AI governance discipline within Kryterion technology consistent with Drake's enterprise posture
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 12+ years of progressive technology leadership, with at least 5 at Director or VP level
- Direct, hands-on experience operating production SaaS environments at scale on AWS or equivalent
- Experience leading both internal IT and client-facing infrastructure functions, with explicit segmentation between the two
- SOC2 or equivalent compliance framework experience as the operator—not solely as an auditor
- Multi-regional team leadership across at least three geographies
- Vendor and contract negotiation at meaningful enterprise scale
- Strong financial discipline: budget management, license rationalization, cost optimization
- Demonstrated AI deployment in production IT and operations—hands-on, not theoretical
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
