The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while helping shape organizational design, compensation strategy, workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, and overall business performance across a multi-state organization.This role offers a unique opportunity to join an established market leader with a national footprint, a highly respected leadership team, and a culture built around long-term relationships, accountability, and collaboration.Scope & ImpactThe Vice President of Human Resources will partner directly with executive leadership and influence virtually every aspect of the organization, including:Organizational design and workforce planningExecutive coaching and leadership developmentCompensation and incentive strategyPerformance management and accountability initiativesTalent acquisition and succession planningEmployee engagement and retentionMulti-state employment strategy and complianceSales force effectiveness and organizational productivityThis individual will serve as a key business partner to leadership, helping drive performance while ensuring the organization continues to attract, develop, and retain top talent.What You'll TackleLeadership has identified several key priorities for the incoming VP of HR:Evaluate and refine compensation and incentive programsStrengthen performance management and accountability across the organizationSupport workforce optimization and organizational effectiveness initiativesPartner with leadership on succession planning and talent developmentDrive alignment across a geographically dispersed workforceHelp leaders maximize productivity, engagement, and retentionThe EnvironmentThis is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong executive presence, influence, and relationship-building skills.The successful candidate must be comfortable:Partnering with multiple senior stakeholdersBuilding consensus across varying leadership stylesBalancing strategic initiatives with hands-on executionOperating effectively in a fast-paced, multi-location environmentThis is not an environment where executives simply manage processes from a distance. Leadership values individuals who remain engaged in the business, build relationships throughout the organization, and maintain visibility across operations.Ideal BackgroundThe strongest candidates will likely possess:15+ years of progressive HR leadership experienceExperience supporting multi-state organizationsSignificant executive leadership exposureExperience partnering with large field-based workforcesStrong compensation, organizational design, and workforce planning experienceProven ability to influence executive leadership teamsExperience supporting sales-driven organizationsIndustry experience within distribution, building products, construction-related industries, manufacturing, or other multi-site operating environments is highly desirable.Experience with California employment law and other complex employment jurisdictions is strongly preferred.TravelThis role requires regular travel throughout the organization's national footprint (~25%).The successful candidate should enjoy spending time in the field, building relationships, understanding operations firsthand, and partnering directly with employees and leaders across the business.
