Educational and Experience Requirement

Terminal Degree or Master’s in appropriate field. Proven andsubstantive administrative experience with record of provenaccomplishments as an administrator at a senior educationalinstitution or equivalent. Knowledge of and experience working withthe Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and extensiveexperience with Ellucian Banner Student Module is preferred. Acombination of education, experience, and training that wouldproduce the required knowledge and abilities could beconsidered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Responsible for the performance of the ongoing enrollmentmanagement issues of the University, oversight of management ofvaried departments, and services delivered under the VicePresident’s supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides senior leadership, strategic direction, and fiscaloversight to the areas of Strategic Enrollment Initiatives,Recruitment and Admissions, Enrollment Services, and EnrollmentSuccess. Oversees new student enrollment for undergraduate,graduate and professional student populations. Serves as a mainpoint of contact and makes decision for all undergraduate andgraduate concerns, initiatives, and issues with the EnterpriseResource Planning ( ERP ) Banner system for admissions, financialaid, registration and student receivables to include interactionswith third‑party vendors. Leads these teams for Banner, CognosReporting, and Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) products. Serves as the Enrollment Management liaison with other Universitydepartments and divisions to include Academic Affairs,Informational Technology, University Advancement, Student Affairs,Finance and Operations, Athletics, and Sam Houston State University( SHSU ) Online to ensure that key University initiatives and goalsrelated to admissions and enrollment marketing/communication aremet and lead students to graduation. Oversees and providesdirection for all marketing, recruiting, and communication effortsregarding enrollment. Manages communication efforts for prospects,applicants, and recently enrolled students. Uses data drivendecisions to determine future enrollment efforts, improvements incurrent enrollment efforts, and helps predict the future demand ofstudents. Coordinates enrollment information and content on theadministrative departmental websites with links to appropriateacademic sites. Partners with others across campus to intentionallyattract and retain students, to include forecasting trends thatwill likely affect higher education and using effective research toplan for the future. Tracks and measures progress and outcomes,ensuring all enrollment management initiatives are assessed andadapted for efficiency and effectiveness, and understands theUniversity’s broader competitive market position. Attends regularmeetings with Deans and Department Chairs to discuss competitivemarketing strategies, enrollment goals, and reporting needs. Creates and maintains strategic alliances with university leadersto effectively align enrollment management key initiatives andgoals. Reviews and makes recommendations on policy changes,procedures, budget items, and personnel communications fromdepartments. Responsible for writing and revising any polices inthe above departments. Full supervision of the personnel and budgetof these areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.
