Hybrid Full Time Finance

VP, Finance — Financial Institution | CECL, Budgeting & Forecasting, Credit Risk Modeling

Most VP Finance candidates can talk about budgeting. Fewer can say they've owned a CECL model start to finish and defended it to an examiner. This role is built for the second group — a finance leader from inside a bank or credit union who's done the regulatory-facing work, not just the reporting around it.

About the Role: This VP Finance seat leads budgeting, forecasting, and credit risk modeling for a financial institution's finance function. You'll manage the CECL model end-to-end, prepare ALCO and Board-level materials, and act as the primary liaison for audit and exam questions — with one direct report and real influence over how the organization measures profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CECL model — monthly calculations, KPI reporting, scenario analysis, and committee materials
  • Own the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working directly with the CFO and SVP Finance
  • Build and maintain SQL-based financial reporting for management KPIs
  • Lead organizational and product profitability analysis
  • Serve as primary liaison for financial statement audits, regulatory exams, and model validations

Requirements:

  • Direct, hands-on experience owning a CECL model — not just reviewing results
  • 10+ years in financial management, FP&A, or accounting within a bank or credit union
  • Strong SQL and financial database reporting skills
  • Experience preparing materials for Board and ALCO review
  • BS in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus

Details: $161,350–$208,800 | San Diego, CA | Hybrid after a 90-day onsite ramp | Open to relocation candidates (no relocation package provided)
