Vice President Finance

Movement Search and Delivery is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in Goose Creek, SC, to identify and evaluate a Vice President of Finance.

On-Site / Hybrid / Remote: On-Site (some travel)

Salary Goals: $225k+ base plus bonus

About the Role: Our client, an established manufacturer serving government and commercial customers, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a senior financial leader. This highly visible role reports to the CFO and focuses on accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

Vice President of Finance Position Summary: The Vice President of Finance will lead the accounting and reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and timely reporting. This person will partner with executive leadership to support long-term planning, improve financial performance, and drive operational excellence, while developing a high-performing finance team.

Essential Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Serve as a key financial advisor to the CFO and executive leadership.
• Lead the accounting, tax, financial reporting, and internal control functions.
• Provide financial insight through analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and program leaders to improve cost visibility and support decisions.

Accounting Operations & Reporting

• Oversee core accounting operations, including the month-end close and consolidated reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment.

Planning, Compliance & Audit

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Lead external audits and maintain audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, and government contracting requirements.
• Oversee indirect rate structures and related compliance.

Internal Controls & Leadership

• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices.
• Recruit, develop, and lead the accounting and finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including Controller-level responsibilities.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Government contract accounting experience valued.
• Experience with revenue recognition on long-term contracts preferred.
• Experience with financial systems integrations.
• Private equity or high-growth environment experience a plus.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
