Our client is seeking an experienced VP Finance with a specialty in the Real Estate Industry. This person will lead the accounting and financial reporting for a large commercial and industrial real estate portfolio. This leadership role oversees the financial operations for over 75 properties while ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls.
The ideal candidate will have extensive commercial real estate accounting experience, advanced knowledge of Yardi , and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the accounting and financial reporting for a large portfolio.
- Lead the close process and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Develop budgets and forecasts while monitoring performance.
- Analyze results, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights
- Prepare journal entries and oversee account reconciliations.
- Manage all property accounting operations.
- Prepare accounting for all investments.
- Utilize Yardi to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain internal controls and compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare documentation for audits and financial reviews.
- Lead a team of accounting professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Acctg, or Finance; CPA preferred .
- 10+ years of progressive real estate accounting experience.
- Demonstrated success in a RE property accounting leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial real estate accounting principles.
- Strong proficiency with Yardi.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; PowerPoint proficiency preferred.
