Vice President Finance

Gurnee, IL Area | Convenient Northern Lake County Location

A privately held, multi-location consumer services and retail organization with approximately $100 million in annual revenue is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to lead their next chapter of company growth. This is a highly visible leadership role for a finance executive who enjoys partnering with operations, leading people, influencing strategy, and helping a growing organization make sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and finance operations across a multi-location business
• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and financial statement review
• Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity planning
• Coordinate annual audits and compliance activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting
• Partner with executive leadership on operational and strategic decisions
• Lead, mentor, and develop a tenured accounting team
• Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements

Required Qualifications

• Controller, VP Finance, Finance Director, or similar senior finance leadership experience
• Strong accounting foundation with ownership of close and financial reporting
• Treasury and cash management experience
• Audit leadership experience
• Team leadership experience, including mentoring managers and professional staff
• Experience within multi-location, operationally complex businesses
• Ability to thrive in a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment
• Executive presence combined with an approachable, low-ego leadership style

Additional Preferred Experience

• Senior finance leadership within a multi-site operating environment
• Ownership of accounting, treasury, audit, planning, and financial reporting
• Experience supporting location-based, franchise, dealer, retail, or service-oriented business models
• Strong command of unit economics, KPI reporting, operational finance, and growth planning
• Proven ability to partner with ownership and executive leadership in a privately held, entrepreneurial organization

Compensation

• Flexibility for exceptional candidates
• Discretionary bonus opportunity (target 10%-20%)
• Paid Time Off (PTO): 20 days of PTO annually, plus 5 paid sick days. PTO is offered on an accrual basis and prorated based on hire date.
