Vice President, Environmental Energy Technical DirectorWSP USA is initiating a search for a Vice President, Environmental Energy Technical Director to join our South Mountain Earth and Environment Team! We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with 12+ years of experience managing energy infrastructure siting and routing, permitting, and construction of electric transmission lines and substations, renewable energy projects, and midstream pipelines (CO 2, natural gas, and hydrogen). The ideal candidate has experience in leading the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) process.

The position is located in Tempe, Arizona.Serve as a technical director, project director, and project manager for projects within our South Mountain energy portfolioDevelop and mentor staffServe as a subject matter expert in the ACC CEC processManage multidisciplinary projects in various geographic locations and phases of development including routing/siting, federal, state, and local land use permitting, and construction complianceClient coordination and project financial performance including preparing and monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, and forecastingExpand existing client portfolios and establish new leads.Lead and support proposal preparation for task orders and/or new contractsLead collection of environmental field resource data collection along with preparation of environmental document and permit applications; coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permittingWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitorsCommunicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetings.Implement corporate and project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs, including methodology and document review, participation in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetingsBachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)12+ years demonstrated knowledge and professional experience in licensing and permitting, including the ACC CEC process, in Arizona and other southwestern states, preferably related to utility infrastructure development and operations5+ years' experience in leading the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) processStrong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients, and overseeing project staff and subcontractorsTravel from 10 to 20% of the time for client, project, and internal meetingsProfessional certifications as applicable to technical expertiseKnowledge and demonstrated expertise with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and related federal and state laws and regulations (e.g., Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.) is required
