Onsite Full Time Controlling

  • Maintain thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Lead timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, and oversee maintenance of accounting records including preparing, recording, reviewing journal entries, monitoring intercompany activity, and performing consolidation
  • Review/approve accounts payable allocations and review/approve expense reports
  • Prepare and maintain monthly/quarterly reporting package including budget, variance analysis, and other balance sheet detail, leveraging AI-driven historical reporting dashboards to surface trends, anomalies, and variance drivers
  • Prepare annual financial statements and coordinates with Auditors
  • Support Tax and Finance forecasting activities using AI-assisted forecasting models and tax metric analyzers to improve accuracy and scenario planning
  • Collaborate with CFO, AP Controller, Treasurer, Corporate Secretary, and Outsourced Tax team to support overall departments projects, goals, and objectives
  • Continuously optimize workflow to develop more efficient procedures including identifying and deploying AI/automation tools to streamline close, reconciliation, and reporting processes
  • Implement new processes and software AI-enabled accounting, analytics, and document-processing platforms
  • Manages, trains, and develops one analyst and provides training to new staff as needed
  • Determines and documents treatment of non-routine transactions
  • Responds to inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests

Tax Workflow Management

  • Manage relationship with outsourced Tax team
  • Review and route tax communications
  • Collect data required for tax preparation including leger reports, K-1s, financial statements, partner's capital statements, etc. utilizing AI-driven document extraction (K-1s, 1099s, partner capital statements) to accelerate data gathering and reduce manual entry
  • Assist with quarterly tax estimates and tax forecasting leveraging an AI-driven historical and tax metric dashboard/analyzer to monitor effective tax rates, distributions, and entity-level trends
  • Lead annual preparation of 1099s

Requirements

  • 6-15 years of Accounting experience including managerial or supervisory experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and proficient with Adobe pdf software
  • Accounting software/ERP system experience with experience in consolidation of multi-entity structure/environment
  • Financial statement preparation and reporting package preparation experience
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and proactively work autonomously
  • Delivery-focused and able to respond to business requests quickly
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent problem solving ability including comfort using AI/data-analytics tools to drive insight
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholders
  • Ability to lead proactively, effectively, and collaboratively in a team environment
  • High degree of honesty and integrity
  • Strong work ethic

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Oil and gas accounting experience
  • General understanding of investment accounts, marketable securities, and hedging transactions
  • Family office accounting experience
  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI and automation tools in an accounting/finance setting (e.g., GL anomaly detection, AI-powered dashboards, LLM-based document processing)
