Job Title : Vice President, Commercial Banking
Location: San Jose
What You’ll Do
As a Commercial Banker II you will identify a target market for new business and develop a book of new business from those relationships. Key responsibilities include negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of a variety of major and complex loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures; developing business checking and deposit relationships with customers. You will assist clients with deposit related products and services, and gather and analyze client information to recommend appropriate deposit product solutions.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze market research data to develop recommendations regarding products and services for the target market.
- Engage in business development activities and solicitation of new business based on the target market.
- Collaborate closely with treasury partner to ensure seamless client experiences.
- Call and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services to establish a new book of business.
- Develop and maintain customer database including calls and results on all new business relationships; prepare reports as required.
- Interview prospective applicants and request information related to loan or credit applications; resolve questions regarding application information.
- Perform basic pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within the Bank’s credit culture and current trends.
- Gather information to present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee; visit sites of loans; negotiate terms; refer and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
- Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure compliance with agreements and Bank lending policies; obtain and document information from customers; resolve processing and servicing issues within the Relationship Managermbers portfolio.
- Maintain knowledge of financial industry status and trends; recommend improvements for underperforming products or services.
- Represent the Bank in community and civic functions to enhance the Bank image and develop business; support market position in the financing arena.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced knowledge in all facets of relationship management.
- Advanced organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- Up to 50% travel may be required.
Compensation
Salary range for new hires is generally $159,250.00 – $185,000.00 for San Jose, CA. Salary determined by location. Eligible for annual bonus/incentives and restricted stock where applicable.
