Veterinary Technician

Wisdom Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Veterinary Technician to join our team and support our mission of high-quality, personalized veterinary care.

Job Summary

The Veterinary Technician provides medical and surgical support, patient care, and client education under the supervision of a veterinarian. This role includes technical, administrative, and housekeeping responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Medical Care & Patient Support

• Perform treatments and administer medications as directed by a DVM
• Safely and appropriately restrain animals
• Collect blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples and run in-house diagnostics
• Prepare and monitor patients for anesthesia
• Assist in surgical procedures
• Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records

Client Communication

• Educate clients on preventative care and post-treatment instructions
• Prepare discharge paperwork and home-care instructions
• Demonstrate proper medication administration

Facility Maintenance

• Clean, maintain, and stock exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites
• Assist with inventory control for medical supplies
• Follow sanitation and infection-control protocols

Administrative Support

• Enter charges accurately into the practice management system
• Assist with scheduling recheck appointments
• Support front-desk operations (phones, patient intake) when needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 1+ year of veterinary experience preferred
• Credentialed technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) preferred but not required
• Strong technical and animal-handling skills
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs and safely restrain animals
• Excellent communication and client-service skills

Schedule

• Part-Time or Full-time position
• Must be available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
• Additional flexibility for weekday shifts required
