A rare opening exists for a Board Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Surgeon in Tucson, AZ.

This large, purpose-built, stand-alone hospital has operated as a 24 hour specialty and emergency referral center for over 20 years, drawing patients from Northwest Tucson, across Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, with clients traveling from as far as Sierra Vista, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Las Cruces, and El Paso. Bright, naturally lit, and thoughtfully designed, the facility offers a calm and comfortable setting for pets, clients, and staff alike.

Joining a 12-doctor hospital that continues to expand, you'll work alongside board-certified specialists across a range of disciplines, with a genuinely collaborative culture that values mutual respect and enjoying the work environment. The hospital runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, giving you the surgical caseload and referral volume to match your skill set.

Surgical cases are supported by comprehensive in-house diagnostics, including a laboratory, pharmacy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, CT scanner, and endoscopy, allowing you to plan and manage procedures with confidence and precision.

You'll work closely with hospital leadership and a skilled technician team, with support in place to keep your focus on surgery and case outcomes.

About You:

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university
  • Completed a 1 year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, or ER
  • Completed a 3 year, AVMA-approved surgical residency program
  • Hold or be eligible for a Veterinary State License in Arizona
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery preferred but not essential
  • Strong communicator with clients and colleagues alike
  • Base salary between $335,000 and $390,000
