Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic — Veterinary Surgeon
Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled veterinary surgeon to join our team.
We have recently moved into a 5,000 square foot updated building on 16 acres that includes a double operating room, surgical prep/endoscopy room, seven exam rooms, a new digital X‑ray system, in‑house laboratory, ultrasound (2022), newly purchased endoscope (2024), and a ventilator system in the OR.
Our clinic provides prompt and conscientious emergency care after hours, on weekends, and during holidays. Hours of operation: Monday‑Thursday 5:30 PM‑8:00 AM, Friday 5:30 PM‑Monday 8:00 AM, and open 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Location: Holden, Maine (minutes from Bangor).
What You’ll Do
- Maintain the quality and expand the diversity of surgical procedures.
- Deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress.
- Communicate promptly with referring veterinarians.
- Stay current with new medical/surgical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Positively represent the hospital in the community.

Requirements
- Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- ACVS diplomate status or board‑eligible.
- Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License.
Employment will require the successful completion of references and a background check.
