Base Salary: $200,000–$250,000 with ProSal Compensation Model | Up to $60,000 Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance

At Fresno Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center, you'll join an established specialty team serving a referral community of nearly one million people throughout California's Central Valley. As a board-certified or residency-trained Small Animal Surgeon, you'll have the opportunity to practice advanced surgery alongside specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dentistry, and Ophthalmology, all within a collaborative, team-focused environment.

FVSEC is a 24/7/365 emergency and specialty hospital with a strong reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate care. The hospital's experienced leadership team has been in place since 2006, and its long-tenured staff creates the kind of stability and institutional knowledge that allows specialists to focus on excellent medicine. In your day-to-day, you will:

Balance time between consultations, case workups, and surgical procedures

Perform orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries using available imaging and surgical equipment

Collaborate with Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and other specialty teams to support integrated case management

Utilize advanced diagnostic capabilities including Vimago CT, GE Logiq P6 Vet ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and laparoscopic equipment as appropriate to your cases

Help develop and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout the Central Valley

Work alongside experienced technicians and support staff dedicated to providing exceptional surgical patient care

Mentor technicians and support staff as part of daily case management

Contribute to the continued growth of the hospital's surgical service

Engage in ongoing CE, mentorship, and professional development opportunities

Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning

What You Bring

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure

Board Certification in Small Animal Surgery (DACVS) or residency trained in Small Animal Surgery and board eligible

Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach

A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care

A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine

An interest in teaching, mentorship, and contributing to the growth of specialty medicine in the Central Valley
