Introduction
Our client is a hospital looking to hire an Emergency Veterinary Surgeon on an on-call basis. This fast-paced, 24/7 emergency and critical care facility provides advanced care for cats, dogs, and exotics, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary referral environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Emergency Veterinary Surgeon responsibilities, managing emergency surgical cases while working closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver outstanding patient care. The position is offered on an on-call basis, primarily covering nights and one to two weekends per month. This opportunity is suited to a Veterinary Surgeon (DACVS) or residency-trained veterinarian with a minimum of two years of experience in emergency surgical care who is comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing specialty services in Emergency Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Zoo and Exotics Medicine. The practice is equipped with, but not limited to, Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, a Tonopen, and a GE Revolution 64-slice CT machine, supporting the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of complex emergency and referral cases. Additional facilities include a full surgical suite designed to support advanced surgical procedures. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, the practice is committed to maintaining exceptional clinical standards while providing clinicians with the resources needed to deliver outstanding patient care.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
