At VRC Specialty Hospital, you'll join one of the nation's most advanced veterinary oncology programs, working alongside a collaborative team of oncologists, surgeons, internists, radiologists, criticalists, neurologists, and emergency clinicians. We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Radiation Oncologist who is passionate about delivering cutting‑edge cancer care while helping advance the future of veterinary radiation oncology.

VRC is one of the few veterinary hospitals in the country equipped with the Varian Halcyon Linear Accelerator and Eclipse Treatment Planning System. This advanced technology supports IMRT, VMAT, SRT, and SRS treatments, allowing clinicians to treat complex tumors with exceptional precision while minimizing impact on surrounding tissues.

The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $200,000 to $230,000 per year.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Evaluate, stage, and manage oncology patients requiring radiation therapy.
  • Develop treatment plans utilizing IMRT, VMAT, SRT, and SRS technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, Internal Medicine, and Emergency services to provide integrated cancer care.
  • Utilize advanced treatment planning software and radiation technologies to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Guide pet owners through treatment options, expectations, and long‑term care plans with empathy and transparency.
  • Mentor technicians, interns, and support staff involved in radiation therapy services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and cancer case reviews.
  • Contribute to the advancement and growth of one of the country’s premier veterinary radiation oncology programs.

What You Bring

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Board Certification in Radiation Oncology (ACVR Radiation Oncology) or Residency Trained in Radiation Oncology.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client‑centered approach.
