Veterinary Neurologist

Full-Time opportunity in Richmond, Virginia

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 (prosal) with 25% production.

Join a collaborative, multi-specialty team and help advance neurology care for pets throughout Central Virginia. At Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump, you’ll practice alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians in a state-of-the-art hospital designed to support advanced medicine, collaboration, and exceptional patient care. With a strong referral base and access to advanced diagnostic and treatment resources, you’ll have the opportunity to provide comprehensive neurologic care while working closely with colleagues across multiple specialties. Our 24/7 emergency and critical care team also provides seamless support for complex and urgent neurologic cases.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurologic and neurosurgical conditions in companion animals.
  • Perform and interpret advanced neurologic diagnostics and develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex cases.
  • Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, and support teams to provide coordinated care for urgent and complex neurologic patients.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of neurology services at Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Board Certification in Neurology or Residency Trained in Neurology.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
