The Role

• Provide medical leadership for a local group of hospitals in partnership with practice managers
• Coach, develop, and retain associate veterinarians; lead onboarding and structured mentorship
• Validate clinical quality through medical record reviews, case discussions, audits, and patient-safety reviews
• Deliver clinical care part of each week, including wellness, dentistry, and routine surgical procedures
• Champion preventive care and client education; address escalated client concerns to resolution
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
• Manage medical equipment needs and inventory with hospital leadership
• Track key medical and operational metrics and execute action plans to meet goals
• Partner with talent teams on recruiting, externships, and student engagement
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture

This is a full-time, hospital-based working manager position.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
• Active New Jersey veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• DEA license eligibility
• Proven clinical proficiency, including routine soft-tissue surgery and dentistry
• Leadership experience in a multi-doctor setting preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and comfort with practice software
• Authorization to work in the United States
