Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Internist to establish and grow an Internal Medicine service within a busy, progressive specialty and emergency hospital. This is a unique opportunity to shape a service with the autonomy to develop your clinical interests, backed by a strong existing caseload and an established hospital team.


You won’t have to wait for the caseload to build. With a steady referral base and a wide variety of complex medical cases already coming through the hospital, you’ll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while working alongside experienced emergency and specialty teams. Advanced resources include CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and flexible access to ultrasound support, with additional opportunities to develop interests in areas such as interventional procedures and dialysis.

In your day-to-day, you will:



  • Establish and develop Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas’s Internal Medicine service.

  • Manage a busy and diverse medical caseload from day one.

  • Diagnose and treat complex medical conditions across a broad range of specialties.

  • Utilize advanced diagnostic and procedural capabilities including CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and ultrasound.

  • Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine and other specialty teams to provide comprehensive patient care.

  • Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

  • Develop clinical interests and pursue opportunities in areas such as interventional procedures, dialysis, and advanced endoscopy.

  • Participate in Ethos clinical research opportunities ranging from sampling requests to GCP-level studies.

  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.


What You Bring



  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Residency Trained in Internal Medicine.

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with a passion for solving complex medical cases.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for developing a specialty service.

  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
