What you'll do
Depending on the project, you may:
Analyze: Review veterinary cases, clinical scenarios, patient histories, diagnostic information, treatment plans, and animal health situations.
Evaluate: Review AI-generated veterinary analysis, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and clinical reasoning.
Validate: Determine whether AI-generated veterinary outputs are accurate, logically sound, clinically appropriate, and consistent with accepted veterinary principles.
Review: Assess diagnostic approaches, treatment plans, medication recommendations, preventive care strategies, and clinical decisions.
Reason: Solve realistic veterinary problems and explain how an experienced veterinary professional would approach them.
Compare solutions: Assess multiple AI-generated veterinary solutions and identify meaningful differences in accuracy, reasoning, clinical judgment, and safety.
Create evaluations: Develop challenging veterinary tasks and criteria for measuring AI systems.
Provide expert judgment: Identify errors, inconsistencies, unsupported assumptions, unsafe recommendations, and incorrect clinical conclusions in AI-generated work.
Projects may involve companion animal medicine, large animal medicine, veterinary surgery, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, preventive medicine, animal nutrition, pathology, pharmacology, diagnostic medicine, animal health, livestock medicine, and other areas depending on your expertise.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for experienced veterinary professionals, not necessarily AI researchers.
You should have:
3+ years of professional experience in veterinary medicine, animal health, veterinary practice, veterinary research, or a related field
Strong veterinary and clinical reasoning skills
Experience working with real-world animal health cases and clinical information
Ability to evaluate veterinary analysis, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations critically
Strong attention to detail
Ability to identify veterinary errors, inconsistencies, unsafe recommendations, and unsupported assumptions
Strong professional judgment
Ability to clearly explain why a veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or conclusion is correct or incorrect
Experience with any of the following is valuable:
Companion animal medicine
Large animal or livestock medicine
Veterinary surgery
Internal medicine
Emergency and critical care
Preventive veterinary medicine
Veterinary diagnostics
Veterinary pathology
Veterinary pharmacology
Animal nutrition
Animal health and disease management
Veterinary research or clinical practice
DVM, BVSc, VMD, or equivalent veterinary qualification
You do not need prior experience working in AI.
What matters most is that you know how to do veterinary work well.
You might be asked to:
Review an AI-generated veterinary case analysis and identify the issues.
Evaluate whether an AI-generated diagnosis is supported by the available clinical information.
Assess whether a treatment recommendation is appropriate for a particular animal or clinical scenario.
Review an AI-generated interpretation of laboratory results, imaging findings, or other diagnostic information.
Compare two AI-generated veterinary solutions and determine which is stronger.
Evaluate an AI-generated treatment or preventive care plan.
Analyze a realistic veterinary case and explain your clinical reasoning.
Identify veterinary errors, inconsistencies, unsafe recommendations, or unsupported conclusions.
Assess whether an AI-generated recommendation appropriately considers species, breed, age, symptoms, medical history, and other relevant factors.
Create challenging veterinary cases that can be used to evaluate AI systems.
The goal is not simply to determine whether veterinary work looks reasonable.
The goal is to capture the judgment an experienced veterinary professional uses to determine whether veterinary work actually makes clinical sense.

But producing a plausible-looking veterinary answer is not the same as demonstrating strong veterinary judgment.
AI needs to learn how experienced veterinary professionals:
Analyze clinical information
Interpret patient histories and symptoms
Evaluate diagnostic possibilities
Assess laboratory and diagnostic findings
Evaluate treatment options
Consider species-specific factors
Identify clinical errors and risks
Evaluate assumptions and supporting evidence
Recognize important edge cases
Assess medication and treatment recommendations
Consider animal welfare and patient safety
Explain clinical conclusions clearly
Determine when veterinary analysis is actually reliable
That's where you come in.
Your veterinary expertise helps shape how AI learns to reason about animal health and veterinary medicine.
