Base Salary: $160,000–$200,000 | Sign-On & Relocation Assistance Available

Bring Dermatology back to the Central Valley and help establish a much-needed specialty service at Fresno Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center. FVSEC is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Dermatologist to join our growing specialty team and build a service that our referring community is eager to see return.

This is a unique opportunity to step into an established 24/7/365 emergency and specialty hospital with a strong referral base, experienced support team, and multiple specialty services already under one roof. FVSEC's team includes specialists in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care, creating natural opportunities for collaboration and comprehensive case management.

You’ll also have dedicated support from a Dermatology-trained Registered Veterinary Technician who will assist with appointments and coordinate your schedule, allowing you to focus on patient care and growing your practice.

FVSEC has been serving the Fresno and greater Fresno community since 2006 and has built its reputation around working closely with referring veterinarians and providing advanced specialty and emergency care locally. In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Diagnose and manage complex dermatologic cases across a broad referral population
  • Develop and grow FVSEC's Dermatology service while building lasting relationships with referring veterinarians
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic capabilities to develop individualized treatment plans for dermatology patients
  • Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Emergency and Critical Care, and other hospital teams on shared patients
  • Work alongside a dedicated Dermatology-trained RVT who will support appointments and coordinate your schedule
  • Utilize hospital resources including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, in-house laboratory and cytology capabilities, endoscopy, video otoscopy, and other advanced diagnostic equipment as appropriate to your cases
  • Mentor technicians and support staff as part of daily case management
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners throughout diagnosis and treatment
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning

FVSEC's 8,000+ square-foot facility is designed to support a wide range of patient needs, with a treatment area that allows for continuous patient observation and oxygen availability throughout the main patient area.

What You Bring

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
  • Board Certification in Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD) or residency trained in Veterinary Dermatology and board eligible
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
