Animal Specialty and Emergency Center of Brevard is a specialty referral and 24-hour emergency hospital committed to providing premier diagnostics and therapeutics in a comfortable, compassionate environment. As a Criticalist, you’ll join a growing team of specialists, experienced Emergency clinicians, a certified canine rehabilitation therapist, and a highly skilled, established support team.

You’ll have access to advanced technology and a collaborative environment designed to support high-quality patient care, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, ventilator support, physical therapy, and a full in-house laboratory.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide advanced critical care and management for complex and high-acuity patients referred to the hospital.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and develop individualized treatment plans for critically ill and medically complex patients.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies available within the hospital, including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and ventilator support.
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency clinicians, boarded specialists, veterinary technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and contribute to the continued development of critical care services and hospital protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Engage in ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Board Certification in Critical Care or Residency Trained in Critical Care.
  • Strong clinical skills and an interest in managing complex, critically ill patients.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
