Summary: Carrington College faculty are engaged, accountable, innovative, change‑ready professionals dedicated to their students and to the College Mission. Faculty are proficient in all learning modalities applicable to the program in which they teach.

Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $115,000‑$140,000 annually.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Deliver course material in accordance with college curriculum.
• Fulfill administrative requirements for each course including attendance, Student Learning Outcome assessment data, posting grades in a timely manner, and outreach to students.
• Utilize student achievement and learning outcome data to develop program improvement strategies and participate in formal processes of program improvement, such as program review, assessment, design, and evaluation.
• Demonstrate willingness to develop proficiency in all applicable learning methodologies through continuous improvement.
• Ensure the program consistently adheres to applicable institutional, governmental and accreditation standards.
• Participate as subject‑matter expert in appropriate Industry Advisory Councils, Faculty Council, Assessment Council, and industry associations.
• Build networks within the local industry for programmatic support.
• Engage in activities focused on student service, such as new student orientation, student clubs, appreciation events, outreach, enrollment and career services events.
• Provide proactive student advisement and tutoring.
• Be involved in all departmental and programmatic activities.
• Mentor new faculty members and participate in the Academy of Master Instruction mentoring program.
• Aid in ensuring that program equipment and books adhere to the Standard Equipment List and Standard Book List.
• Assist in ensuring program meets College set standards for persistence, retention, graduation, third‑party examinations and placement.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and accountability and model positive behaviors for students.
• Work collaboratively with interdepartmental campus colleagues to ensure program students receive learner support to achieve success.
• Be on time and present each day as required and conduct class for full class periods.
• Act as substitute instructor for academic colleagues as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Supervise student conduct in the classroom, on the campus, and on field trips and school‑related functions.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA or CVMA accredited program.
• State Veterinarian license.
• DEA License.
• At least 2 years of field experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret materials related to the area of expertise; respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, employees, and business community; effectively present information.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and all software programs related to courses to be taught.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Faculty must possess required certificates, licenses, and registrations for the courses they teach.

Physical Demands

The employee regularly stands, uses hands, reaches, talks, hears, walks, sits, stoops, kneels, crouches, and occasionally climbs or balances. The employee must lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually moderate.
