Veterinarian (Part Time)- Pittsboro Animal Hospital

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a part‑time veterinarian to provide high‑quality clinical care at our Pittsboro, NC facility.

Position Overview

This role offers predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. It is ideal for veterinarians seeking a flexible schedule while staying clinically engaged.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
• Communicate and educate clients about diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures and perform surgeries.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and adhere to controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to uphold high standards.
• Participate in practice‑management updates and training at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills.
• Team‑oriented work style and exceptional interpersonal communication.
• Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care.
• Effective communication with medical staff and clients.
• Ability to handle medical cases with confidence, reassurance, and professionalism.
• Capability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical effort, including climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, and neurological examinations.
• Problem‑solving abilities for high‑quality hospital management.
• Excellent client communication and internal team communication.
• Professionalism and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Business acumen and understanding of veterinary hospital finances.
• Commitment to ethical decision making.
• Active participation in continuing education.

Pay Range

$135,000—$150,000 USD
