Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, adaptable veterinarian (DVM) to join our team of 4 full-time and 2 part-time veterinarians. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys variety, values mission-driven work, and thrives in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Our veterinarians rotate through multiple service areas, including wellness, high-quality high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN), dentistry, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, and mobile outreach. This model allows for professional growth, skill diversification, and meaningful community impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical care across service areas, including:
  • Wellness and preventive care
  • Spay/neuter surgery (HQHVSN model)
  • Dental procedures
  • Urgent care services
  • Mobile clinic services in the community
  • Rotate between departments based on organizational needs and individual skillset
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and client education
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented culture
  • Uphold PRCKC's mission of accessible, judgment-free care

Requirements

Education & Licensure:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Current Missouri veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain).
  • Current Kansas veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain).

Experience:

  • Experience in high-volume spay/neuter, shelter medicine, or nonprofit veterinary practice preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during surgery and clinical work.
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
  • Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to animals, medical equipment, and cleaning agents.
