We're a privately owned small animal and exotics practice in Dubuque, Iowa and we think veterinary medicine can be a great career without consuming your entire life.

We're looking for a part-time or full-time veterinarian, from a brand-new graduate to someone who has been doing this for decades. We care much more about finding the right person than filling a particular number of hours.

Our weekday hours are 8 AM-5 PM. We take our lunch breaks, and we leave on time. Really.

We practice modern medicine with an experienced, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together. We take medicine seriously, but we also laugh-a lot.

Our caseload includes dogs, cats, and exotics. Love exotics? Great. Want to learn? We'll help you. Prefer dogs and cats? Also great. Exotics are completely optional.

Part-Time

Looking to step back from full-time practice without stepping away from veterinary medicine? Or simply looking for a schedule that leaves room for the rest of your life? We're very open to that.

• 2 days per week
• Friday required as one of those days
• One Saturday morning per month, 8 AM-12 PM
• No on-call
• Choice of daily rate or ProSal, based on your preference

Full-Time

• 4-day work week
• One Saturday morning per month, 8 AM-12 PM
• ProSal compensation
• 3 weeks (12 days) paid time off
• SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match

Job Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school, or expected graduation for current veterinary students
• Eligible for veterinary licensure in Iowa
• Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and support staff
• Strong communication skills with clients and team members
• Commitment to high-quality, compassionate medicine
• Willingness to ask questions, learn, and continue developing professionally
• Comfortable practicing small animal medicine; exotics experience is not required
• Part-time applicants must be available 2 days per week, including Friday, plus one Saturday morning per month
• Full-time applicants work a 4-day work week plus one Saturday morning per month
