Role Overview
Veterinary Assistant (Banfield Pet Hospital) – A key member of the hospital team who supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service to clients and pets.
- Perform all required skills of a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program.
- Help maintain patient flow, communicate with veterinarians and vet techs.
- Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
- Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and keep treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans® and the importance of preventive care.
- Mentor other members of the hospital team.
- Support a positive, customer-focused environment and demonstrate effective communication.
Qualifications
- Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training and experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Action-oriented, customer-focused, good listeners and effective communicators.

Pay Range
$18.40 - $23.51 hourly (rate determined by experience, skill level, education and location).
