The Veterans Home RN is a position in a long‑term care setting where you provide professional nursing services to South Dakota Veterans. You apply basic nursing principles, perform clinical procedures, keep accurate records, operate medical equipment, and communicate effectively with patients and staff. The focus is on the healthcare of individuals in the Veterans Home.
Licenses and Certifications
Must be licensed and able to work as a registered nurse in South Dakota.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Registered Nurse license and an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or 3‑year diploma. New graduates are welcome. On‑the‑job training is available. All certificates and/or tests required for performance at this level must be obtained and completed.

Background investigation, abuse and neglect screening, and drug screening will be required. The State of South Dakota does not sponsor work visas. All hires must complete identity and employment eligibility verification.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a temporary, non‑benefited position, exempt from civil service. Pay will be: $36.72 per hour plus additional shift, PM, and weekend premiums.
