Veterans Ford - Automotive Experienced Diesel TechnicianVeterans Ford is seeking for an Experienced Diesel Tech to join our team!A Diesel Technician will have a strong understanding and will demonstrate the ability to work on diesel and gas powered engines. This individual will be extremely familiar with repairing and rebuilding engines, transmissions, drive line and differentials. Our Diesel Mechanics are responsible for providing dependable truck service in a timely manner while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Diesel Engine Certified, Preferred.ResponsibilitiesExamine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommendedMake accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehiclePerforms work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standardsTest-drives vehicles and tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipmentCommunicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairsParticipate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand your knowledge of new technologyPerform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehiclesPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsDiesel Engine CertifiedASE Certification or Graduated from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repairDemonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of engines (gas and diesel), power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's, wheel ends, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering systems, electronics to include ECM's, ECU's, sensors, engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system, brake systems including ABS, suspension systems, complete assemblies, turbo chargers and fuel systemsAt least two years of experience as an automotive technician, RequiredStrong knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenanceHave working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment and lift operationMust be able to read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate recordsAbility to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer serviceMust have basic toolsExcellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stressMust have a valid driver's licenseBenefitsCompetitive Weekly PayPaid VacationEmployee Purchase and Service DiscountsFull benefits options including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Accident Insurance401(k) Retirement Savings PlanState of the Art Facility with a Professional Working Environment
