An established venture capital investment firm is looking for a Venture Capital Associate to join its investment team in either San Francisco or New York . The firm partners with innovative, high-growth companies and takes a research-driven approach to identifying and supporting compelling investment opportunities across technology and emerging industries.
The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating new opportunities through diligence, underwriting, and portfolio support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Source and evaluate new investment opportunities across the firm's areas of focus.
- Conduct market, company, and competitive research to identify attractive investment opportunities.
- Build financial models and investment analyses to evaluate potential investments.
- Participate in management meetings, industry research, and due diligence.
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal investment discussions.
- Support deal execution, including financial, commercial, and market diligence.
- Monitor portfolio companies and provide ongoing research and analysis.
- Develop relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, and other members of the venture ecosystem.
Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, consulting, or a related investing role.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrated interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and venture investing.
- Excellent research, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to evaluate businesses, markets, and investment opportunities independently.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
- Bachelor's degree from a strong academic institution.
