Engineering-Focused Vehicle TechnicianWe are looking for an engineering-focused vehicle technician to support the readiness of our fleet vehicles. The vehicle technician will perform maintenance, repairs, and contribute towards the operations of our lab. This includes scheduled service, diagnostics, repair coordination, lab space fit/function, and general upkeep.Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehiclesMinimum of 2 - 4 years of technician experienceMust have a valid driver's license with a clean/excellent driving recordReliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethosAbility to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverablesTeam playerExcellent written and verbal skillsMust be honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicatorPass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screenMust comply with the Substance Abuse PolicyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods (8 hours) depending on the equipment typeForklift and/or gantry operation is required.
Training and certifications will be provided, compliant with Cal/OSHA standardsDay-to-Day Responsibilities (Key tasks and expectations for the role)Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usageMay need to travel locally to perform this work from time to timeSync with Shop Foreman to ensure all vehicles are in a "ready" state for demonstration and testing requirementsPerform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team if requiredCoordinate and drive the repair processCreate diagnostic test plans as the team sees fitMaintain service records and document quality field reportsMaintain shop facilities, ensure tools are in order, and workspace is in excellent working conditionAssist with parts inventory, location, and organizationBuild an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners
