Job OpportunityThe role is located in Fairfax, VA and requires on-site presence from day one. The hiring process includes an initial phone screening, followed by in-person interviews. The candidate must have 5-7 years of hands-on technical experience, ideally with a 4-year degree in a computer science or technology-related field.
The role includes maintaining and configuring computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The candidate will ensure the systems adhere to Commonwealth policies, standards, and guidelines, and are responsible for system administration, engineering, and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and research and development.
Responsibilities also include installing new servers, configuring hardware, conducting daily system monitoring, security monitoring, backup operations, and file archival.
The role requires creating, changing, and deleting user accounts as per request and providing Tier III support. The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with teammates and customers of varying levels of technical expertise, and respond to Tier 1 support requests.
The role involves configuring and deploying new/replacement desktop/laptop computer equipment and peripherals, maintaining up-to-date project and architecture documentation, and inventory and maintenance records. The candidate will monitor system resources for server/service anomalies, resolve connection issues between users and resources, and maintain a detailed change history of changes.
The role includes supporting team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses, threat hunting, and mitigation, and managing time and resource constraints.
