VDC Engineer – Underground Utilities – Charlotte, NC | $100,000–$120,000

Allegiance Group are partnering with a growing underground utility contractor in Charlotte who are looking to appoint a VDC Engineer to support their expanding project portfolio.

The company works across underground electrical infrastructure and utility projects, including duct banks, conduit systems and manholes.

This is a great opportunity for someone with VDC/BIM experience to take ownership of digital coordination, working closely with Project Managers, survey teams and field leaders to turn project designs into practical construction plans.

What we’re looking for:

• VDC/BIM experience within construction
• Experience with civil infrastructure, underground utilities or electrical/MEP systems preferred
• Knowledge of modelling and coordination software such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, spatial coordination and constructability
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with both technical and field teams

What you’ll do:

• Develop and coordinate 3D models for underground utility and infrastructure projects
• Review drawings and specifications to identify clashes and constructability issues
• Coordinate utility routes, elevations and installation details with PMs, Superintendents and survey teams
• Produce coordinated drawings and model information to support field installation
• Attend BIM coordination meetings with general contractors, designers and trade partners
• Update models as designs change and support accurate as-built documentation
• Help improve VDC processes and digital technology across project teams
