Kearsley Community Schools serves approximately 2,800 students across four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Kearsley Athletics has a strong tradition of competitive excellence, student development, and community pride. The district continues to invest in athletic and student opportunities, including a new community recreation facility featuring a 1,500‑seat competitive gymnasium, indoor track, and dedicated training spaces.
Recent athletic accomplishments include:
- Girls Bowling — 2026 MHSAA Division 2 State Champions, earning the program's 11th state title since 2012
- Boys Bowling — Back-to-back MHSAA Division 2 State Champions in 2025 and 2026
- Boys Basketball — 2025 Flint Metro League Champions

Qualifications
- Preference will be given to applicants with applicable coaching experience
- The applicant must have a minimum of three years experience in dealing successfully with teenagers
- Preference will be given to those holding a teaching certificate
- The applicant must be able to demonstrate a history of positive working relationships with athletes and their parents
- The applicant must be knowledgeable, organized, enthusiastic and willing to invest the necessary time in the program to bring about quality
- The applicant must have the necessary mental/physical ability and stamina to successfully perform assigned responsibilities
- The applicant must successfully complete a Live Scan Criminal Records check
Responsibilities
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coach the specific team
- Lead by example
- Be responsible for equipment and supplies for the specific program
- Maintain effective communication with parents and athletes
