Position Summary
The Columbia University Medical Center/Presbyterian Hospital Division of Neurocritical Care within the Department of Neurology is currently hiring VHO Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) – PRN – for all nights, weekends and holidays. Students, postdocs, certified CRCs, EMTs, paramedics and RNs are strongly welcomed to apply.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and conducts research protocols ensuring quality, consistency, timeliness, accuracy and patient safety.
- Confirm qualified potential subjects for the clinical research study as outlined in IRB protocols and perform study procedures; works with the on‑call physician to confirm subject eligibility.
- Follows protocol‑specific timeline and procedures for subjects who are active in a NeuroICU clinical research trial.
- Becomes familiar with the protocol, case report form, informed consent, source documentation and study medication(s) for the assigned outbreaks.
- Works in conjunction with hospital clinical staff and communicates with treating teams.
- Performs appropriate research protocol procedures which may include ensuring that all required physiological assessments and recordings are completed/collected (vital signs, pregnancy tests, radiological tests, ECGs, etc.), all study‑related specimen processing & storage, and acute stroke assessments.
- Performs basic lab procedures such as specimen processing per study protocol, centrifuge operation, storing of lab specimens and accountability of specimens. \ המשך? I should finish the bullet list.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in a health‑related field or some health‑related experience.
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Health Sciences/Clinical/Research experience a plus.
Other Requirements
- Upon confirmation, CRC will come on‑site within 30 minutes to assist in protocol‑specific procedures.
- Approximately 40% of the work can be accomplished remotely (screening/identifying study subjects/communication withades) but must be able to arrive to the campus within 30 minutes when/if there is a potential study candidate.
- Must be able to work a rotating schedule which includes evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.
- All other projects as assigned.
