Van Technician

Job Location: Conley, GA

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Role and Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive maintenance (PM's) and DOT compliance on trailer equipment.
• Diagnose service, and repair reefer (refrigerated) trailer units.
• Complete work orders, document parts used, and labor hours for repairs completed.
• Perform Emergency Roadside Services.
• Responsible for truck cleanliness and organization.
• Ensure the service truck is fueled and complete proper maintenance to ensure the service truck remains operational.
• Guarantee Service truck parts are inventoried and restocked parts as needed - this includes taking along parts that may be needed to complete repairs on site.
• Communicate effectively with the Manager and Dispatch to coordinate repairs and meet customer requirements.
• Ensure every mechanic knows how or has the knowledge to complete each task on the checklist given before being certified.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• DOT CERTIFIED
• Valid Driver's License
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work well with others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic/technician, preferably with on-road trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and general truck and trailer systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain if required.
• Ability to work independently in the field, make sound decisions, and manage time and routing effectively.
• Proficiency with basic computers or tablets for work orders and diagnostics.
• Own basic hand tools suitable for diesel repair; company provides service truck and major equipment (adjust to your policy).
