This position will require acquiring lengths using an OTDR on hundreds of fibers a day, return the fiber out of the discrete job in Oracle, assign the fibers to open location, label them and place them on a rack.ResponsibilitiesLookup fiber history and determine the job the fiber was used onUsing OTDR, check length of the fiberTransact the return or scrap transactionCorrectly label fiber and place in correct locationCo-ordinate tasks with Fiber planners to accomplish daily demandsWork closely with fiber planning internal customersParticipate in any related improvement activitiesFollow all safety guidelines required of a Fiber PlannerMaintain all required Safety Training requiredAdhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.Maintain accurate Fiber inventoryLearn to run coloring lines to cover breaks/absencesRequirementsHigh School DiplomaDemonstrated performer with 3+ years of discrete manufacturing experience in cable manufacturingCurrent AFL manufacturing process certificationCurrent EHS/Quality certification and EHS trainingNo pending, active, or a repetitive history of disciplinary actionVery detail oriented (Mistakes cause lose in production)Dependable with exceptional attendance historyAvailable to work a night shift 2-2-3 schedule (7p-7a)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
