This position will be responsible for repairing water mains, performing general cleanup of grounds and facilities, assisting with general maintenance, and other job duties as required.Essential FunctionsInstalls underground water main lineExcavates work area using hand toolsInstalls water services and metersCleans and organizes construction vehicles and heavy equipmentFlushes services and water mainsPerforms accuracy test on assigned department equipmentPerforms relief work under various classificationsOperates system valves as requiredNotifies customers for shut-downsCompletes necessary paperworkMaintains monthly vehicle reports on construction equipmentAssists above and below ground construction as requiredParticipates in and supports the Company's Continuous Improvement program and projectsPerforms work on site at assigned locationPerforms other similar duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDConstruction or plumbing experience equivalent to a laborer or apprentice desiredWater Utility experience desiredValid Washington State Driver's LicenseProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applicationsFirst Aid Card (required within one year of employment)Able to work after hours for emergency repairsFamiliar with hand tools for digging and wrenches for assembling pipe fittingsAbility to drive and back up large trucks and trailersAble to work in confined spacesAble to lift heavy and awkward rocks, broken asphaltAble to work in harsh weather conditionsSalary Range: $24.14 - $44.76 per hour (DOE)Deadline to submit resume is OPEN UNTIL FILLEDThe Equal Opportunity Policy of the Company is based upon the philosophy that all people should be treated fairly and with dignity.
